2026 charity partner

Hospitality Action

Behind their smiles and slick service, hospitality workers can fall upon hard times just like anybody else.  Hospitality can be a stressful industry, with long hours, high-pressure environments and physically demanding work.  The rising costs of accommodation, food and fuel are placing more hospitality families in danger of homelessness, and many businesses are at risk of failure, putting thousands of jobs in jeopardy.

The charity Hospitality Action is on hand to support.  For nearly 200 years they have offered financial assistance to UK hospitality workers in crisis and today, they are the industry’s leading charity.  In 2025 alone, 11.1% of the charity’s funds were allocated to supporting hospitality workers in crisis in the North West.

Alongside crucial grant giving, Hospitality Action provides advice, mental health support and signposting to the whole hospitality workforce via an online advice hub and 24-hour helpline.  Their employee assistance programme is the gold standard in employee care, providing comprehensive wraparound support with access to counsellors and experts in areas such as parenting, legal matters and debt management.

Recognising the challenges faced by of the hospitality industry, Marketing Lancashire has partnered with Hospitality Action as their nominated charity for the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2026, taking place on Wednesday 11th February at Blackpool Conference and Exhibition Centre, Winter Gardens.

Speaking of the partnership Hospitality Action Chief Executive Mark Lewis says: ‘In 2026, the wellbeing of hospitality people has never been more important. While the sector continues to face incredible challenges, we’re inspired every day by the resilience and dedication of those who work within it. With the help of our generous supporters, we remain focused on delivering vital support to the people who need it most. Heartfelt thanks to The Lancashire Tourism Awards for helping to make a positive difference and highlighting the crucial role Hospitality Action plays across the region.’
