Taste Lancashire Producer Awards

Britain’s tastiest county
A sector that employs just under 14,000 people, we’re a diverse county that whets the appetite when it comes to food and drink.  From the farmers in West Lancashire providing salad and vegetables to some of the country’s best dining establishments, to large manufacturers producing everything from ready-made meals, biscuits and crisps to functional foods and pet foods, we have attracted global brands and household names as well as nourishing home-grown businesses. 

We want to celebrate with you.

The Awards:
The Taste Lancashire Producer Awards celebrate Lancashire produce in all of its forms. Unlike other food and drink produce awards, these awards focus on celebrating the business itself, not just the taste profile of its products.

Whether your product is grown, reared, fished or manufactured in Lancashire, created using Lancashire ingredients, or simply carries the Lancashire name and champions Lancashire in some way, we want to hear from you.

The judging process considers both the quality of the products and the business behind them, including areas such as provenance, innovation, business development, sustainability, collaboration and future ambition.  Shortlisted businesses will also have the opportunity to ‘meet the buyer’ with Booths as part of the finalist judging process.

Simpler to enter for 2027 :

We know that finding time to complete awards applications can be difficult for busy food and drink businesses, so we’ve streamlined the application process for 2027.

Entrants are asked to complete one nomination statement, alongside some basic information about the business.  This gives you the opportunity to tell us about your business, your products, your achievements and your ambitions without having to complete a lengthy application.

We’re also bringing product tasting forward in the judging process.  Product samples will be assessed alongside your nomination as part of the shortlisting stage, so judges can consider both the products and the business when deciding who progresses to the finalist stage.

How to enter:

There are two parts to entering the Taste Lancashire Producer Awards 2027:

1. Complete your online application by Friday 6 November 2026.

2. Send your product samples, together with a completed Product Submission Form, to Booths Central Office by 10am on Friday 13 November 2026.

Both the online application and product submission must be completed for your entry to be considered.

Judges will then consider the applications and product samples together, with shortlisted businesses announced by the end of November 2026.

Shortlisted businesses will be invited to meet the judging panel on Friday 22 January 2027, when they will have the opportunity to talk in more detail about their business, products and future plans.

Whether you’ve entered before or are considering the Taste Lancashire Producer Awards for the first time, we hope the new streamlined process will make it easier for you to take part.

Award categories:

Bakery, Pies and Pastries Award
This category is open to artisanal producers and manufacturers of bread, biscuits, pastries, cakes, savoury and sweet pies.

Beers, Wines and Spirits Award
Recognises artisanal producers and manufacturers of beers, wines and spirits.

Fish, Field and Dairy Produce Award
Fresh, cured and smoked meat, cooked meats, ice cream, cheese, yogurts and other dairy, fresh, cured or smoked fish, vegetables, herbs and fruits.

Pantry, Preserved and Ready to Eat Award
Confectionery; condiments; preserves; prepared sweets and desserts; prepared spice mixes and pastes; ambient or frozen

and ready to eat, as well as cordials, soft drinks, and all hot or cold beverages.

All applications must be submitted using our application portal.

Please note:
Applications will only be accepted submitted via the judging portal before the published deadline.

If you choose to create your application on the sample form first and copy into the portal, any formatting will not copy across.

By using the application portal, you will create an account which will allow you to start and return to your applications, saving as you go before you finally hit submit.
